Change to HGV driving test
A change to the heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driving test (and the
bus, coach and car-with-trailer tests) has been announced by
Transport Minister Mike Penning. It will take effect from 1 January
2011.
Test candidates will perform the braking exercise on-road rather
than off-road during their driving test. The exercise will be
performed immediately before the angle start, where the driver is
asked to pull away from behind a parked vehicle. The driving test
will remain otherwise unchanged.
Further information can be found on
the Driving Standards Agency website.
