The Turner Group is delighted to announce that Paul Winter has been appointed as the Managing Director of its newly formed Vehicle Rental Division which incorporates Turner Hire Drive and TCL Tanker Rental. Since joining Turner Hire Drive in July 2017 Paul has driven organisational and structural change as well as significant growth in rental volume.
Paul has over 40 years of senior management experience in the fleet and automotive sectors, notably 17 years, over two spells, with Hertz as Fleet Director as well as working as Head of Remarketing at Scot Group Limited t/a Thrifty and Director at ARC Fleet Solutions.
Such experience will be invaluable in delivering continuous improvement and relationship management. Paul is able to boast success in delivering tangible results and successful projects including; P&L, fleet and balance sheet planning and forecasting, vehicle acquisition and funding.
Winter said: “both Turner Hire Drive and TCL Tanker Rental are excellent businesses which are in a strong position as growing players their markets. Part of both companies appeal is their ability to serve large and small customers’ needs equally well, from national fleet managers to small independent businesses, across a wide range of sectors.”

Winter’s appointment is part of a strategic focus to extend the vehicle rental offering into new markets through the adoption of new technologies and new services, and by building on the significant investment in fleet, branch and workshop infrastructure over the past 2 years.
Since Paul’s appointment as MD in July, the wheels have truly been turning at Hire Drive, and we look forward to the company’s future with him at the helm of the new division.
